Opened in 2019, the Schrader Connection is a crushed granite trail that follows a former Canadian National railway spur. At its southern end, it connects to the Green Circle’s Paper Mill Trail in the Village of Whiting. At its northern end, it intersects Bliss Avenue in Stevens Point, just one block south of the Green Circle’s River Pines Trail.

Tom Schrader

The trail is named after Tom Schrader, former Director of the Stevens Point Parks, Recreation, and Forestry department, who worked to establish the rail trail in 2019. Tom was also one of the founders of the Green Circle Trail in 1989. Tom retired in May 2019 and continues to serves as an active board member of the Green Circle.
